How To Compete With Other Affiliates

It’s a jungle out there in affiliate marketing land. Everybody is trying to make the sale – of the same product. Since we were old enough to go to school, we have strived to fit in and be like everybody else. But now, you must venture out into new territory and strive to be different if you hope to succeed in affiliate marketing.

First, make sure that you have your own website. This is vital, and it allows you to capture email addresses and to promote numerous products instead of promoting just one product at a time. Also avoid using the promotional materials that are provided by the merchant. You will find that you make more sales when you create your own material, including free gifts such as ebooks and reports.

While you can promote specific affiliate products in your promotions, promote your website and your opt-in list more than you promote anything else. Then, promote specific products to your opt-in list and on your website.

Offer bonus gifts to those who purchase through your link. Ask them to send you a copy of their receipt in order to take advantage of the free gift. You can create your own gifts, or use private label rights products. Most affiliates don’t do this, however most of the super affiliates do.

Plan and hold teleseminars to promote products. Your teleseminars should give your callers useful information that they can use, and then you promote products that coincide with that information. Teleseminars are very popular and quite effective.

Write and submit articles on a regular basis. Get your name out there and become an expert in your niche. Also make it a point to actively participate in related forums and newsgroups. When you build that credibility, you will make more sales more often.

Always strive to do things just a bit differently to stand out from the crowd, but don’t ignore proven marketing methods just because other people are using them. Use those methods, just put your own spin on them.
